SEWING CLASS SCHEDULE

Sewing classes will be taught be experienced instructors.

Sewing Class Schedule

Week 1: History of the sewing machine

Week 2: How to use sewing machine  (safety instructions and trouble shooting)

Week 3: Every design comes out of the box. You will learn the details about “The Box” during the course. 

Week 4: Body measurement

Week 5: Pattern making

Week 6: The lines from the box

Week 7: Sew from what you know without instruction

Week 8: Class project

Week 9: Turning a sketch into a design

Week 10: Final project

Week 11: We will provide you with a booklet

 

Days Classes are Offered

Tuesday: 3: 30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

Thursday: 3.30 P.M. - 7.30 P.M.

Saturday: 11: A.M. - 2:00 P.M.

 

Each class is 2 hours

What to bring

  • Portable sewing machine with pedal and power cord if you have access (otherwise there are machines here to use)

  • Old or new fabric/garment of your choice

  • Safety glasses or regular glasses if you wear these (to protect eyes if sewing machine needle breaks)

CLASS POLICY

  1. Payment secures your space in class.

  2. Refunds are NOT the policy of “Adbar Craft Cooperative” learning UNLESS class is canceled due to teacher’s absence. 

  3. NO makeups are allowed for “Vacation Sewing Weeks” (students enrolled for only part of a ten week session).

  4. For the ten week class (adult and kid/teen), we do our best to accommodate ONE makeup class per session.

  5. For you to be eligible, you must give a minimum of 24 hour notice of your absence. 

  6. If you are sick, please stay home and rest. We will try to do our best to arrange a makeup.

  7. Makeups MUST be completed WITHIN your ten week session, with ADVANCE request/notice and when class space allows. 

  8. For advanced learners we do offer four to five week classes.

  9. We also do alterations.
